Whether in the African Savannah, the South American Jungle, or a simple family outdoor camping, adequate drinking water is essential. However, the pure water that you can carry with you is limited after all.
For the majority of outdoor camping enthusiasts, it is excellent if they can obtain drinking water from local materials, so gravity bag filters have become more and more indispensable. It can be placed in any space of the backpack during mountaineering, cycling, and outdoor travel. It is easy to fill with water and drink. It is also convenient to carry. A gravity water filter that is lighter in volume and weight than an outdoor water bottle, and is more in line with the concept of lightweight.
The use of gravity water filters will be introduced in detail from four aspects: the advantages of gravity bag filters, how to use them, how to select them, and how to clean and maintain them.
The Advantages of Gravity Bag Filter
First, the gravity bag filter can be deformed at will, which is relatively more space-saving. Since the general water bag is mostly cylindrical or square, it is easy to form a gap between it when it is placed with other items. The gravity water filter is deformable so that it can be completely filled to fit the surrounding environment.
Second, the gravity bag filter is not afraid of being squeezed. It is not like a water bottle with a pit.
Third, the gravity water filter hardly takes up any space when not in use, and the empty gravity water filter can be squashed and tucked into any corner of the pack.
Fourth, the gravity water filter backpacking can be used as a hanging shower device when necessary.

How to Use a Portable Gravity Bag Filter
Method 1: You can directly put the intake of the straw into the water source, suck the water and drink it. If the water source is far away, connect a hose, put the hose into the water, suck the water and drink it.
Method 2: Fill the beverage bottle (prepared by yourself) with raw water, connect it with a straw, squeeze the water bag or beverage bottle, and the water can be drunk. Equipped with an expansion interface, it can be connected to more beverage bottles to produce water.
Method 3: The silicone tube is connected to the water storage bag, and the pressure generated by the height difference is used to filter the produced water with a straw, which is convenient for drinking by many people, and the water can be drunk. It is equipped with a water stop valve, which can be used immediately.
After use, reverse the water from the outlet 2-3 times, backwash the straw, and gently throw out the remaining water inside the straw. Put it in a cool place for storage.
How to Select a Gravity Bag Filter
1. Non-toxic and tasteless material
The gravity bag filter is used to hold water and directly convert it into our drinking water, so we must consider the safety and non-toxicity firstly. Most products will use non-toxic and tasteless materials, but some inferior products will have a strong plastic smell after being kept in water for a long time. Such products should not be considered.
2. The stress-resistant ability of the gravity water filters
Outdoor exercisers often need to stack packs with gravity water filter backpacking for transport, and sometimes even use backpacks as seats, cushions, or even beds. Use a product that isn’t stress-resistant and the results can be horrific.

Obviously, the larger the opening, the easier it is to fill with water. Of course, the larger the opening, the worse the sealing and pressure resistance. At present, most faucets use screw-on ports similar to the lids of oil drums.
